Rethinking The School Zone

Pete Murray / 2019

Rethinking The School Zone

Australia

This report poses a clearly defined question: ‘How can we design the spaces around primary schools to encourage more children to walk to school?', which focuses on the specific challenge of designing for children walking to primary school. Questions about older children, cycling, and the social context are intentionally omitted to avoid confusion with these concerns. In this way, this research proposal is targeted to interrogate the core question at hand.
